Yoga With Ropes

Yoga with Ropes (Yoga Kurunta)

Yoga Kurunta, or “puppet yoga” was popularised by Iyengar yoga founder B.K.S. Iyengar who’s use of ropes attached to a ‘Yoga rope wall’, enabled yoga practitioners to practice poses that would be otherwise unavailable to them and to help them to go deeper in to the poses.
The term Kurunta comes from the Sanskrit word meaning “puppet,” which reflects the idea that the ropes help support and guide the body, much like how a puppet is controlled by strings.
