Our workshops are designed to offer depth, curiosity and connection alongside everyday classes. If you’d like to share what you’d love to see more of at Lime House, this short questionnaire helps guide the direction of future events.
Our Restorative Aerial workshops workshops are about decompression, detoxing and expanding into the back space – unlocking the hips and opening the heart. We want to be kind to the spine, looking at alignment and safe inversions. We focus on gently mobilising places in the body that sometimes get stuck and allow the postures to help ease painful areas such as the neck and lower back. A restorative yet rejuvenating session that is all about the good ‘feels’!
We’re excited to announce the return of another live dance performance with James Wilton Dance at Lime House Yoga. Bach Reimagined is a collaboration between James Wilton Dance, one of Europe’s premier touring dance companies, and Canadian Cellist Raphael Weinroth Browne. The work will explore everything from Bach’s means of composition as a form of divine worship, to the scientific advancements of his contemporary Sir Isaac Newton. Light will be split, gravity will be discovered and the world will be forever changed. James Wilton Dance’s super athletic, flowing physicality accompanied by Browne’s driving heavy metal cello, will create a visual and sonic spectacle that will leave audiences in awe of the epic combination of beauty and ferocity. James Wilton Dance was founded in 2010 by choreographer James Wilton and dancer Sarah Jane Taylor. The company has won awards at the Bern, Hannover and MASDANZA International Choreography competitions and the Sadler’s Wells Global Dance Contest.
Due to the amazingly quick sell out of the first night (thank you!), we are putting on a second night of the amazing Bach Reimagined on Saturday 28th March. Spaces are once again limited and plenty already filled due to having a waiting list from the first night so be quick and don’t miss out! Join Lime House Yoga Principal Teacher Jock Orton for his monthly masterclass. April focuses on Headstands (Sirsasana). For many practitioners, the very idea of being upside down can stir a mix of excitement and fear. But in this Yoga Masterclass: Headstands – The Route to Immortality, the pose is presented not just as an athletic feat but as a deeply transformative practice. Guided by your teacher Jock, students are invited to explore the profound benefits of Headstand and encouraging students to move beyond their fears, doubts, and limitations, while simultaneously awakening deeper layers of the self. The concept of immortality, in the context of yoga, is not about living forever in the body, but about tapping into the timeless, eternal nature of the self. It’s about transcending the temporary limitations of the mind and body and connecting with the vastness of consciousness. Headstands are a powerful tool for unlocking this higher awareness, cultivating clarity, and achieving a sense of liberation from the constant chatter of the mind.
Join Lime House Yoga Principal Teacher Jock Orton for his monthly masterclass. May focuses on becoming fearless in your backbends, and how to execute them safely. There is no denying that dropping backwards onto your hands from standing is pretty scary and unless you were a gymnast as a child probably something you’ve probably never done before! It’s certainly something I never thought I’d be capable of doing when I first started practicing yoga. Thankfully with great instruction and encouragement along the way from my teachers it’s something that has become second nature and something that is no longer scary but a part of my practice that I really look forward to. Backbends open the chest and upper body stimulating the Heart chakra (Anahata) allowing us to open more fully to our emotions. Strong backbends can bring up stored emotions: fear, anger, frustration, sadness as well as joy and love. Over the years, I’ve had students come to me after a strong back bending class to describe the emotion that has been released asking whether it’s normal to be feeling, whichever emotion it is, so strongly. Backbends will make you more fully present in the moment, because that moment when you first drop back on your own, I guarantee you won’t be thinking about whatever else you should be doing that day.
This Intro to Mysore (Ashtanga Yoga Fundamentals) workshop is designed to start you on the journey to learn the Ashtanga Primary series so that you can join the Self Practice sessions (Mysore*) that we run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 7am. Ashtanga Yoga a form of Hatha Yoga that is based on a practice of yoga that slowly builds in difficulty to allow students to safely access their full potential. Don’t worry if you have never practiced Ashtanga Yoga before, if you have ever attended a Vinyasa class you will be familiar with many of the poses. Our aim is to help each student evolve into an independent practitioner and to enjoy the mental and physical benefits that the Ashtanga practice can bring. You will learn elements of the Ashtanga Primary Series in a way which makes the practice accessible to everyone regardless of your experience or flexibility. The Ashtanga sequence is often viewed as only suitable for those who are athletic, strong and flexible. Traditionally however the sequence is adapted to the individual with modifications and props available to ensure safe and sustainable lifelong practice. The Self Practice method is the traditional was taught to students. Think of it as a 1-2-1 but in a group environment. This differs from the standard led (guided) classes that we are familiar with in the west. The self-practice method requires that the practitioner learn each series in turn and practice at their own pace. There are 6 series in total that progressively build in difficulty. You start with the primary (1st Series), also known as yoga chikitsa (yoga therapy). Once you become proficient at the practicing the primary series you then progress through the Intermediate series (Nadi Shodhana – cleansing the subtle energy channels) * Mysore – named after the place in Indian where it was first taught. **Please note that our cancellation policies differ slightly for classes and workshops/courses/trainings. Please visit our T&C’s page for full details.
Join our resident sound healer Ali Gunning for an evening of sound meditation, food and connection. Our second seasonal gong bath of 2026 is our Summer ‘Bloom’ event. Simple heart opening movements help you expand like the fire energy of summer; a time to vision, share, manifest. Sweet melodies of hang drum invite you to pause from the busyness and welcome the bright harmonics of sun and symphonic gongs into each and every cell. We ground you with bells, shakers, rainstick, dropping into a shared meditative silence.
Aerial Yoga Flow is the most dynamic of our Aerial offerings. These workshops are based on fitness and fun, learning new sequences, flying yoga postures, aerial yoga flow techniques alongside anatomical yoga themes that focus on specific muscle groups / areas of the body. In these Aerial Yoga Flow sessions we target the centrally located area of the body using the muscles that make up the core connected to ‘self-worth‘ & ‘optimism‘. We also fire up the glutes and hamstrings with strengthening and stretching exercises, enhancing & toning the muscles that propel us forwards…a fun and active flow finishing with relaxing aerial yoga back-relief techniques and inversion therapy. Guaranteed to leave you with beaming smiles and a spring in your step!
Yoga for Thoracic Mobility, Free Breathing & Chanting Modern life often draws us forward — rounding the shoulders, narrowing the chest and compressing the upper back. Over time, this can limit the natural movement of the ribs and diaphragm, subtly affecting posture, breathing and overall ease in the body. This yoga workshop with Amy Hughes offers a gentle yet intelligent antidote to those patterns. Through a carefully structured afternoon of movement, breath and sound, we will explore thoracic mobility, rib expansion and the relationship between posture and respiration — restoring space to the upper body and cultivating a fuller, more three-dimensional breath.
This is a 3-hour Iyengar workshop taught by a Level 3 Iyengar teacher, Lucy Aldridge. Learn how to use the yoga rope wall and other yoga props to deepen and enhance your practice. The yoga ropes can be used to either offer support to your body by reversing the effects of gravity or they can used to enhance and deepen the effect of a pose.
Join Lime House Yoga Principal teacher Jock Orton for this month’s masterclass. July focuses on Shoulders. Modern life is creating bio-mechanical misalignments, with new terms like ‘tech neck’ emerging. Through our desk jobs, sofas, car seats and most recently hunching over phones, many of us are carrying excess tension in the shoulders and upper back. When we move (especially when we weight bear through the arms) in yoga practice, we can compound this. In this workshop Jock will explore the most functional ways to stabilise our shoulders in practice. Josh will complement this by sharing some of the pulling and hanging actions shoulders were designed for, back when our ape ancestors were climbing and swinging from trees. Exploring these strengthening practices can support stability, but also a good range of movement in your yoga practice and improved postural health for physical and energetic alignment. We will look at how to: · Relax the upper shoulder using external rotation for over head actions · Improve stability by strengthening retraction patterns: shalabhasana (locust) and friends · Improving stability by strengthening protection patterns: side plank and friends · Supportive practices for yoga on rings: passive and active hangs, ring rows, pull actions · A few final tips for stabilising in the back bend and inversion patterns

Join Lime House Yoga Principal Teacher Jock Orton for his monthly masterclass. August focuses on Handstands In the yogic tradition, there are several ‘gateway’ poses and being able to hold a handstand is one of them. We can all remember doing handstands as children and how much fun they were. As we grow older though, we can lose this sense of fun and excitement and as with anything we’ve not done for a while, we may feel fear and place limitations on ourselves that we are too old or we’ll hurt ourselves, etc. This month’s masterclass is designed to give you back the confidence and fun of turning upside down! By practicing handstands with clear, precise instruction and in a safe and supportive environment we will give you back the sense of fun that you once had. Inversions are also physically beneficial and increase blood flow to the brain, improve memory, supports your endocrine system, improves balance and spatial awareness, builds upper body and core strength…we could go on!
Keep an eye out for more workshops every month!
