New for April 2024 – Aerial Yoga Sound Bath.

First event – April 27th 11am – 1pm

Join us for our first very special Aerial Yoga Sound Bath. In this workshop you will practice Aerial Yin Yoga and then enjoy an immersive Sound Bath whilst still cocooned in your aerial sling

Aerial Yin Yoga is a passive practice which allows you to feel a sense of weightlessness suspended in an aerial silk sling. You will be holding postures for longer periods of time helping to reduce tension and stress within the body and mind.

The aerial hammock acts as a lifting support, drawing the weight and energy of the body off the ground, creating a sense of being held and nurtured.

The emphasis of this practice is deeper relaxation, deeper breathing and deeper more peaceful connection to the inner self.

Whilst still cocooned safely in your silk hammock, you will experience a relaxing Sound Bath. Let the sounds and vibrations from crystal & Tibetan bowls, gongs, chimes and more, wash away any residual emotional, mental or physical stress.

The combination of the subtle movements of swaying in the hammock combined with the healing sounds and vibrations of the Aerial Sound Bath will have you floating to a blissful place, leaving you feeling calmer and rejuvenated for days to come from a truly unforgettable experience.

Join us for this unique healing experience.

Beginners welcome.

Benefits

Aerial yoga offers numerous benefits for the body, mind, and spirit. Some of the advantages include:

  • Improved flexibility and strength: Aerial yoga requires the use of various muscle groups to stabilize and move in the air. This helps to increase flexibility, strength, and overall muscle tone.
  • Spinal decompression: Hanging upside down or in various inverted poses allows for gentle traction and decompression of the spine, which can alleviate back pain and improve spinal alignment.
  • Core strengthening: Many aerial yoga poses engage the core muscles, leading to a stronger and more stable core.
  • Increased body awareness: Aerial yoga challenges practitioners to find balance and control in a suspended environment, promoting body awareness and coordination.
  • Stress relief and relaxation: Aerial yoga incorporates elements of mindfulness and deep breathing, helping to reduce stress, increase relaxation, and promote mental well-being.
  • It’s important to note that aerial yoga is a physically demanding practice and may not be suitable for everyone. Your teacher is a certified instructor who can guide you through the proper techniques and ensure your safety. Our workshops are designed for complete beginners and then you can gradually progress as you gain strength and confidence in the hammock.

Aerial yoga more information

Aerial yoga, also known as anti-gravity yoga or flying yoga, is a unique form of yoga that combines traditional yoga poses with the use of a yoga hammock suspended from the ceiling. This practice allows you to explore a wide range of movements and poses in the air, offering a different perspective and adding an element of playfulness and creativity to your yoga practice.

Using a combination of traditional yoga poses, pilates and dance with the use of an aerial hammock. It defies gravity and allows you to perform various yoga poses that may be difficult on the ground, but easier in mid-air.

It’s fun, acrobatic and its many physical benefits include increasing flexibility, soothing back problems, building strength, improving balance, aiding digestion and can even improve memory!

It can also help improve many aspects of everyday life, including increasing confidence & overcoming fears.

Sometimes our inner child gets lost in the demands of adulthood. This style of yoga brings the inner child alive as it lifts yoga off the mat and into the air. It’s definitely not about how it looks, but all about how it feels and can bring out a light, playful energy. Guaranteed to leave you with beaming smiles and a spring in your step!

What better place to try this magical yoga practice than at Limehouse Yoga studio.

Nayomi Webb

After a life of dance, yoga and movement-based subjects, Nayomi Webb naturally transitioned aerial yoga, having been introduced to it 8 years ago when living and working in the Caribbean.

Nayomi wanted to explore how the traditional yoga postures could be performed in the air and went on to learn her own aerial yoga techniques and style which she now teaches to others.

Movement of many kinds has always been such a huge passion of mine. I’m fascinated with the human body and all of its magic and power. Since a very young age I danced and Physical Education was always my favourite subject in school. I found yoga almost twenty years ago. At first it was the physical side to it that kept me coming back to the mat. After diving deeper into the practice that kept drawing me back, I travelled to Rishikesh in India to explore all of the layers of this wonderful practice. This is where I did my first 200 hour YTT. I’ve been back to India twice since then spending time living in Ashrams to deepen my practice, knowledge and wisdom. There I completed more teacher training and finished my 500 hour YTT. I’m always saving for the next course on ‘my list’ as I’m so passionate about sharing holistic healing practices with anyone and everyone. I’m also a Sound healer and host sound baths and yoga retreats in Cornwall. It’s my absolute passion in life to help people feel at home in their bodies, minds and spirit. I truly believe movement is medicine and I love to bring people on a beautiful journey of yoga asana where we feel a complete energetic shift. Nothing beats that post yoga class high. I look forward to seeing you on the mat.
