Yin Fascial Yoga Workshop – Neck and Shoulders

Yin Fascial Yoga is a system of yoga that combines elements of Yin Yoga, Myofascial Release, Daoist Yoga and Mindfulness, exploring the many ways we can help release tension, tightness and emotional & physical trauma held within the physical and energetic body.
In this workshop, we’ll be working through a practice that will access all areas of the complex structure that forms the shoulders and surrounding areas, including the neck and upper back.
Combining Yin Yoga & Myofascial Release we’ll be working to help release tension and tightness in and around the upper body. Typically this area gets overworked on a daily basis from daily tasks such as computer work, mobile phone use, driving and repetitive daily movements. It also tends to be the area of our body where most of us hold stress.
We’ll gently stretch the deeper aspects of the body, and quiet the mind with long held meditative yin postures, helping to improve flexibility and joint mobility, as well as targeting connective tissue, fascia, ligaments and other areas of the body, that are not directly reached in a more active “yang” style of yoga.
As well as practicing traditional yin postures we will also be exploring Myofascial Release techniques to help release emotional and physical tightness & tension stored within the physical & energetic body.
Yin Fascial Yoga is perfect for those who prefer a slower form of yoga and works as a complementary practice for those used to a more physically active yoga style.
