Navigating Transition – Meditation and Supper
Meditation and Supper Evening – Navigating Transition
with Lucinda Pimlott
As human beings, we will inevitably find ourselves in times of change, whether it be in relation to our homes, families, work, relationships, or the surrounding world that we live in. How can we reduce stress and meet these changes in a calm and centred fashion? How can we manage times of change skillfully? In the teachings of the Buddha, ‘Anicca’ refers to the impermanent nature of all things. Meditation practice helps us to experience directly the way in which all phenomena in our lives are subject to change, as well as providing a practice arena for cultivating equanimity. With this understanding we can begin to minimise our suffering and establish a steady ground for ourselves.
About your Teacher
Lucinda was initiated into the practice of Vipassana meditation 17 years ago at the Dhamma Dipa Centre with Goenkaji. Since then, she has had the good fortune of practising under the auspices of Thich Nhat Hanh and with Insight Meditation Teachers at Gaia House in Devon.
Apart from teaching at Lime House Yoga, she runs her own yoga business – Yoga in Penryn, teaching weekly classes in Falmouth and Penryn as well as weekend workshops. She also teaches yoga therapy and pregnancy yoga and she is a regular teacher at the annual Surya Yoga Camp.
Her formal training to become an Anusara Inspired Teacher included intensive study with Bridget Woods Kramer, Carlos Pomeda, Sianna Sherman and Beth Shay. She has been teaching for 11 years and in order to deepen her knowledge and continually find new ways to bring the benefits of yoga to her students, she regularly trains in yoga and meditation. With a background in dance, teaching and natural healthcare, Lucinda is also a Registered Bach Flower Practitioner.
