Mum and Baby Yoga
Come and Try Our Re-energising and Relaxing Yoga Class
Especially for Mum and Baby – First Class Free
Our classes focus on postnatal recovery, in particular strengthening the abdominals, back and pelvic floor muscles. The postures will help release tension in the shoulders and neck and overall increase your strength, energy levels promoting relaxation. The class will incorporate your baby creating a fun atmosphere and more opportunity to bond with your baby.
We recommend that you allow your body time to fully recover, so therefore the
classes are aimed for when the baby is 6 weeks plus up to crawling.
About your Teacher: Claire Cook
I have always had an interest in anatomy and physiology and after completing a degree in Sport and Exercise Science, I worked as a personal trainer for over ten years. I found yoga to be a journey that started with wanting to work on the physical elements such as improving my flexibility, balance and strength, but then I discovered the added benefits yoga brought and after previously being focused on high impact exercise, yoga soon started to become a big part of my life.
I then discovered the fluid and beautiful practice of Vinyasa Flow. I went on to complete my 200 hour Teacher Training in 2010 with Yoga London. I worked for a number of corporate companies creating energising classes that emphasised alignment and the development of posture through flowing sequences.
The number of pregnant women seemed to increase in my Vinyasa Flow classes so I decided to go and complete my Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training with the experienced Yoga Therapist Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. I feel it it important to encourage the mums to maintain their health and fitness whilst promoting relaxation and preparing the body for labour.
I was keen to continue the journey with the mums so went on to do my Postnatal Training with the inspirational Nadia Narain. My classes focus on strengthening the back, abdominals and pelvic floor muscles whilst incorporating the baby, creating a fun atmosphere and a closer bond between mum and baby.
