The Retreat

 

Come for four days of yoga, meditation and just being in the beautiful setting of Lime House Yoga on the Cornish coast. The yoga will be a gentle exploring of ashtanga in the morning (taught with love and props); in the afternoon there will be Yin yoga: a practice of softness and stillness followed by an afternoon meditation session each day.

 

Practical, intelligent and with a sense of humour, Norman’s grasp of all things yogic is deep yet accessible. In London Norman teaches classes, workshops and teacher training courses as well as working with small groups of teachers who value his support and advice. Maitripushpa’s sunny and helpful outlook, along with her deep knowledge of all things meditational, completes this retreat mix.

 

Norman is one of the most experienced Yin yoga teachers in the country. He has been teaching since 2001 and leads many intensives, trainings and retreats. He recently brought out a book ‘Brightening Our Inner Skies’.

 

Norman’s morning yoga classes are Ashtanga with love. He’s fond of props as well as explaining the detail in the yoga postures so you can feel fully supported, mentally and physically. These joyful asana classes wind round the Ashtanga primary series, though take a slower, more forgiving pace than traditional Ashtanga classes. With variations a plenty you are sure to carve out a comfortable and beneficial practice which really works for you – there is definitely room for manoeuvre. There will be, juicy Yin Yoga sessions in the evenings where you will have chance to get intensely involved with each pose. Under Norman’s sensitive guidance you can recognise your edge and enjoy experimenting with subtle, and not so subtle sensations.

 

Maitripushpa began her regular meditation practice in the mid-1980s and has been practising yoga since the mid-1990s. She constantly watches and learns how the two practices influence each other. Meditation with Maitripushpa is varied and can be a great introduction to meditation or an amazing opportunity for existing practitioners to develop. A couple of sessions each day allow her to tap into the vibe created by the asana classes. Guests drop deeply into themselves in her classes that may include body awareness, walking meditation, sitting or various contemplative practices. Maitripushpa has a big Buddhist influence but years of study with varied traditions inform and enrich the meditation experience on this retreat.

 

Together Norman and Maitripushpa weave different threads that can help participants to shift settings and come closer towards that aspiration of quieting mind and calming body.

Food

The food we serve at The Retreat is organic, colourful, healthy and most importantly tastes amazing. We are passionate about supporting our local food suppliers and growing our own produce in our vegetable garden and polytunnel. Predominantly vegan, we love trying new recipes so that no two days are the same.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Your payment includes a non-refundable deposit of £150. In the event you cancel 60 days or more prior to the retreat the remaining balance will be refunded. In the event you cancel less than 60 days prior to the retreat payments are not refundable. By booking you agree to abide by our full terms and conditions which can be read here.

 

Residential prices are based on two people sharing a room and includes accommodation, full board and yoga. Single supplements are available for a 50% charge. The price excludes travel and transfers.
