Cornwall Yoga Retreat

Cornwall Yoga Retreat – October 2nd – 6th

with Jock Orton

The Retreat

Join us for a 4-night yoga retreat in our brand-new purpose-built yoga studio on the North Cornish coast.

Each day will start with a guided yoga class, covering specific breathing techniques and physical postures (asana’s) taught by Lime House’s principal teacher Jock. Whether you are new to yoga or have been practising for years Jock is experienced enough to be able to offer you personalised instruction suitable for any level. Jock has over twenty years experience and regularly teaches around the world.

After breakfast, there will be an optional guided walk to either Perranporth or Holywell beach to take in the majestic Cornish coastline.

The afternoons are free for you to do as you wish. If you want to learn to surf or SUP (stand up paddleboard) we can give you the contact details of local schools.

There will be a technique masterclass at 5pm each day before dinner. The content of each masterclass will vary depending on what comes up in the morning practice or you can ask questions about anything you would like to work on in your own practice.

The Yoga Studio

Is a purpose-built world-class yoga studio that is the only one of its kind in the UK. It includes a 14-metre wide ‘Iyengar rope wall’. with a state-of-the-art AV (audiovisual) set-up.

The Food

We serve is all homemade delicious vegetarian, organic and homegrown where possible. We like to grow as much as we can because we know that great food starts with great ingredients. It’s an in-joke at Lime House that the feedback we have from our retreats always lists the food first and foremost!

The surrounding area

The Smugglers Inn is either a brisk 12-minute walk away via the road or a 25-minute scenic amble away…. however it usually takes a little longer on the way home!

A 30-minute walk away to the south across the dunes is the lost church of St Piran. Originally built in the 5-6th century by the patron saint of Cornwall, St Piran, it became engulfed by the shifting sands in the 10th century. Lost for hundreds of years it was rediscovered in the 18th century. It was reburied in the early 20th century to protect it from vandalism. In 2015 it was re-excavated by the St Piran Trust. The lost Church is one of the oldest and most important sacred sites in Britain, second only in age to Iona Abbey in Scotland

Location

Situated a stone’s throw from one of the finest beaches in Cornwall with stunning coastal walks and amazing surf. The studio is surround by 7 acres, including stunning gardens and farmland. We back onto Penhale Dunes, which are a designated SSSI (Special Site of Scientific Interest) and are home to rare flora and fauna not found anywhere else in the country.

Our closest beach is Perranporth which is over 2 miles of golden sand and amazing surf. We overlook Holywell beach and it’s very distinctive islands of Gull rocks Holywell is regularly used as a backdrop for filming, from everything from Game of Thrones, James Bond to Poldark.
