Chair Yoga: Therapeutic Movement
Aimee Stapleford
Starting 14th January 12-1pm (Every Friday)

The Chair Yoga and Therapeutic Movement class is a gentle exploration of movement done whilst sitting in a chair. Invitational language will be shared as we explore gentle ‘shapes’. The movement and forms are adapted to meet the needs of the body.

The chair, as a yoga prop, is a support in your practice to help improve mobility, flexibility and strength. Other benefits may include pain reduction, lowering of stress levels and improved concentration. The sessions will help to support our physical and mental wellbeing and can help to boost your mood.

Due to the gentle nature of this session, chair yoga is suitable for those with long-term health conditions. One of the added benefits to this group is the opportunity to connect with others and become a part of a supportive community. Please contact us and we will put you in touch with the teacher Aimee to go through your health history if required.

About your Teacher

Hello, my name is Aimee, I am a Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Coach, Yoga Therapist and Ayurveda Diet and Lifestyle advocate with a keen interest in Trauma-informed practice.

Since 2009 I have been studying and sharing the incredible benefits of holistic approaches to Wellbeing in my private practice and groups. I am passionate about walking the path to Wellbeing alongside others. Autonomy and a client-lead approach is foundation to the relational work that we do together, be it as a private client or a participant in studio/group sessions. I believe self-government, empowerment and agency is at the belly of the facilitator/participant relationship, therefore sessions are paced and tailored to the needs of the individual.

As a Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach, my toes are thoroughly buried in the sands of holistic work. My background in Counselling studies, Yoga Therapy and all things Wellbeing enables a creative, person-centred approach, be it in a group or 1:1 setting. I understand the importance of acknowledging our emotions, patterns and beliefs from having studied Counselling Level 3 through the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB). As a student of TCTSY (Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga) I endeavour to continue to learn and grow in order to enhance my work as a facilitator, mentor and volunteer.

I pull from my experience, knowledge, creativity and intuition and combine multidisciplinary techniques such as Yoga, Ayurveda, Diet and Lifestyle guidance to facilitate clients and students to live a more balanced and happy life. I hope we get to journey together soon.

“Aimee’s specialised and tailored yoga has been a great source of relief to me during a challenging time, when medication could only heal so much. Her treatment has afforded me respite from my symptoms and, also, an opportunity to strengthen my body and move forward in my recovery. It has been incredibly empowering and of immense relief to me”.  Kate, Cornwall
