The programme is made up of six weekly classes that cover the essential elements of a beginner yoga practice. The course is designed to allow you to start on any one of the 6 weeks meaning you don’t have to wait for the next course to begin. For example, you might start on week 3 and so do the course in the following order – weeks 3, 4, 5, 6, 1, 2.
Each week is a stand-alone class meaning you don’t have to have done the weeks before to benefit. This also means if you have to miss a week for any reason you can pick it up the next time around.
We’re proud of our world class teachers but more than this we’re most proud of helping to build a community of like-minded people who share a passion for yoga, and we want you to be a part of it.
Emma’s natural curiosity, enthusiasm and instinct guided her towards yoga and bodywork, being both a yoga teacher and ‘Chavutti Thirumal’ massage therapist. She is fascinated by the human body and believes that both yoga and massage are truly wonderful experiences and can help us to find harmony within ourselves.
She says, “Nothing speaks to me as powerfully as the complete well-being that I feel after my yoga practice. After the movement and stillness, I find the ‘well-being’ contagious. Yoga calms my mind and I find a deeper way of coming into my body than exercise alone offers. For me it’s the missing piece, that understanding of the union between mind and body.”
15 years ago she met Jock and so began her regular yoga practice with him and in November 2014 she completed her Yoga teacher training with Doug Swenson. His simple approach resonated with her and she states her personal practise is a reflection of his teachings. Since then she has completed numerous other trainings with world class teachers. Some days she practices a powerful Ashtanga practice and other days a more restorative Yin based practice.
As well as teaching yoga she continues to investigate body-centred and spiritual approaches to holistic health using various massage techniques including ‘Thai Yoga Massage’ and the wonderful ‘Chavutti Thirumal’ (massage by foot pressure), also known as the dance of the Hindu god Shiva.
